The 1pm daily update that captivated the nation came to an end earlier this year but if you’re a fan of the show then fear not as it’s set to return with a second season. But how is the new series likely to fair this time around?
In a daily update, your Action will invoke an intent and then display a notification on the user’s device at their scheduled time. The notification should contain different, useful information each day to ensure the user engages with your Action again each day.
When you enable daily updates in your Action, you’ll also need to configure the triggering intent and an overwrite event for your hosted feature layer. Overwrite events will automatically overwrite your hosted feature layer with new data when it’s available. When you create an overwrite event, you can also configure pop-up settings and symbology for the hosted feature layer view in ArcGIS Online.
To enable daily updates for your Action, navigate to the Settings tab in your Action and select the Daily update option. For more on creating a Daily update, see our article on the topic.
This Bridge workflow updates the TODAY function in Smartsheet so that it reflects the current date. It runs each day and checks if there are any changes to the TODAY formula in your sheet. If there are, the workflow applies and saves those changes. If not, it cancels the change and reverts to the original TODAY formula.
