Recognizing that the results of some high impact research may not be available by the general abstract submission deadline, late-breaking is an opportunity for researchers to submit late-breaking data for consideration. Late-breaking data must have become available after the general abstract deadline and must be original to the researcher. In order to be competitive, research must have the potential to significantly impact clinical practice or lead to significant advances in our understanding of human behavior and health.
Late-breaking abstracts are presented in a special session (Friday, October 13) and can also be presented as a paper poster or an ePoster. Accepted late-breaking abstracts are also published online on the MSMilan2023 Congress website.
Presentations of LBW are designed to elicit helpful feedback, foster discussions, and promote collaborations. Presenters are encouraged to use this opportunity to showcase innovative research ideas, early-stage results, industry showcases and system prototypes addressing eXplainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) theory and practice. LBW presentations are semi-archival and authors are welcome to reuse the content of their LBW for future CHI full paper submissions.
Authors of accepted LBW must be prepared to present the work in person at the meeting. In order to do so, the presenting author of each LBW must register for the conference and purchase a virtual-only registration (abstract authors cannot switch to the virtual-only option after their abstract is accepted). A LBW cannot be withdrawn after the deadline. Please note that all LBWs are subject to the same review process as other CHI abstracts and may be rejected.
